Les vies possibles de Christian Boltanski (2009)
Christian Boltanski surely is today the most famous french artist worldwide. Having repeatedly participated in the Documenta, he has been honoured by numerous prizes and awards, among others the Goslar Kaiser Ring and the Japanese Praemium Imperiale - the „Nobel Prize“ of culture. In monumental installations around the Holocaust, the fictional posture of his autobiographical oeuvre and opera-like stage performances Boltanski has constructed a distinctive artistic language developing the ideas of remembrance and forgetting, appearing and vanishing, childhood and dying. The camera travels with him to Japan or Berlin, and, of course, into his Parisian studio, while Boltsnki tells the story of his life.
